Elementary Teacher
2026- 2027 Job Description
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Elementary Principal, the Elementary Teacher will implement daily student instruction based on an educational curriculum designed to meet State of Nevada as well as federal standards for students. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning.
The teacher will be expected to adhere to Amplus Academy's professional standards as well as Nevada Department of Education licensure standards. Amplus Academy is a classical education charter school located in the southwest area of Las Vegas. Amplus Academy has two campuses serving Kindergarten- 12th grade students.
Terms of Employment: 10-month per Contract of Employment (180 Day Calendar)
Salary: The compensation for this position is in alignment with the Amplus Governing Board approved Salary Schedule; Salary Schedule based on years' experience and degree held. Compensation for all positions are determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Amplus Academy. Consideration is given for experience and specialized skills in determining salary.
Salary Range: $50,840- $80,000 with 100% Employer Paid PERS
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, subject area or other related field
  • Current Nevada teaching license required
  • Out of state teaching license with ability to transfer to Nevada prior to start of school year accepted in lieu of current Nevada teaching license
  • Prior teaching experience (2 years+) preferred
  • Specialized training in teaching elementary school-aged children is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Planning and Instruction
    • Plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and school, state, and federal curriculum guidelines.
    • Designs and delivers individual lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques, appealing to various learning styles.
    • Differentiates instruction to accommodate diverse learners, including implementing specific accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners (ELL).
    • Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests.

  • Assessment/ Student Monitoring
    • Evaluates, corrects, and grades student performance.
    • Analyzes student progress and provides appropriate instruction based on data.
    • Monitors students' progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for future grade levels
    • Administers standardized tests in accordance with school and state laws and policies.

  • Classroom Management/ Safety
    • Develops and ensures a positive and supportive classroom environment with the opportunity for students to learn.
    • Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
    • Monitors halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff.

  • Communication/ Collaboration
    • Fosters collaborative partnerships with students and families, maintaining open lines of communication regarding academic milestones and behavioral development.
    • Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or the principal.

  • Administration/ Professional Development
    • Manages required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records.
    • Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
    • Maintains knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in education.
    • Complete Lexia Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to operate, activate and use a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
