Job description

Pay rate: $25 to $30/hr. The Leave of Absence Consultant supports the People Solutions Specialized Services team and serves as the primary point of contact for employees navigating Leaves of Absence (LOA). This role is responsible for end to end leave case management while also contributing to operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

The consultant ensures a consistent, compliant, and positive employee experience by partnering closely with leave administration vendors and internal stakeholders. Administer leave of absence cases (including FMLA and other statutory leaves) in partnership with third party leave administration vendors, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave processes, timelines, documentation requirements, and return to work planning.

Partner with vendors and internal teams (Payroll, Benefits, People Business Partners) to resolve eligibility questions, escalations, and timing or pay related issues. Monitor leave cases to ensure accurate data, timely processing, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Track and report on leave metrics, trends, and operational performance to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Projects & Continuous Improvement Contribute to leave related process improvement initiatives and operational enhancements. Develop and maintain LOA playbooks, templates, job aids, and training materials to support consistent practices. Participate in cross functional projects related to leave administration, such as vendor optimization, payroll integration, audits, and compliance reviews.
