Summary
The Director of Learning and Workforce Development provides strategic leadership for B&D Industries' workforce development initiatives, ensuring the organization has the talent, capabilities, leadership pipeline, and learning systems necessary to support long-term growth and operational excellence.
This role is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide learning and workforce development strategies that align employee growth with business objectives. The Director oversees leadership development, career pathways, workforce readiness programs, training investments, and learning technologies while serving as the organization's subject matter expert in adult learning and instructional effectiveness.
As a member of the Operational Excellence Senior Leadership Team, the Director partners with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability, support succession planning, and drive a culture of continuous learning across all employee groups.

Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Development
Develop and execute the organization's learning and workforce development strategy in alignment with business objectives and growth plans
Partner with executive and operational leaders to identify workforce capability needs, skills gaps, and future talent requirements
Create workforce development roadmaps that support technical, professional, and leadership career progression
Support organizational readiness through scalable development programs and succession planning initiatives
Enterprise Learning & Leadership Development
Provide strategic direction for all learning and development programs across the organization
Oversee enterprise training plans, leadership development initiatives, and workforce readiness programs
Establish leadership development pathways that prepare supervisors, managers, directors, and future organizational leaders for increased responsibility
Promote consistency, quality, and effectiveness across all development programs
Learning Design & Adult Learning Excellence
Serve as the organization's internal expert on adult learning principles, instructional methodologies, and learning technologies
Ensure training solutions are appropriately designed and delivered through classroom, field - based, coaching, mentoring, eLearning, and blended learning approaches
Implement innovative learning practices that improve employee engagement, knowledge retention, and performance outcomes
Career Pathways, Partnerships & Resource Management
Collaborate with operational leaders to develop competency models, career pathways, and role-based learning plans
Manage the Learning & Workforce Development budget and prioritize training investments
Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions, industry partners, manufacturers, consultants, and training providers
Develop and manage the organization's workforce development investment portfolio, ensuring an appropriate balance between business-driven training initiatives and employee development opportunities
Evaluate learning and development investments to ensure they provide measurable value to both employees and the organization, supporting workforce capability, career growth, and business objectives
Department Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Lead, develop, and mentor Learning & Workforce Development personnel
Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations
Measure training effectiveness and workforce development outcomes using feedback, assessments, participation data, and business needs
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure learning investments remain aligned with organizational priorities

Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Workforce Development, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Human Resources, Construction Management, or related field.
8+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Workforce Development, Talent Development, Leadership Development, or a related field.
5+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for personnel, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
Experience developing and implementing organization-wide training or workforce development programs.
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and workforce development methodologies.
Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
Supervisory Responsibility
This position includes, but is not limited to, supervision of the Learning & Development team, including managers, trainers, and other learning professionals.
Role Location
This role is an in-office-based role with travel required
