Job description

Expedient is seeking a Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and completion of artificial intelligence and machine learning projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by coordinating internal teams, vendors, and client stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a technical understanding of AI project lifecycles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
This is a hybrid position requiring proximity to our Cleveland Data Center location.
This role does not directly oversee individual contributors. It is responsible to collaborate with and assist Expedient resources and subject matter experts to achieve successful outcomes, which requires establishing authority through influence.
What you will do:
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Foster communication and transparency amongst all teams involved in project delivery, including clients.
  • Manage client communication and expectations regarding new AI-powered solutions, including machine learning models, data analytics, and automation technologies
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, document meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, networks, and third-party vendors.
  • Facilitate client acceptance of services and oversee effective handoff of solutions.
  • Effective communication skills for:
  • Post-sale design and planning meetings with Expedient engineering resources and the client.
  • Maintaining accountability for changes to project scope, including development and execution of project change requests.
  • Project Coordination and Management
  • Facilitate and manage projects in an authoritative manner.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, task lists, and resource assignments for the AI project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project risks and issues; escalate when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation is created and maintained throughout the project lifecycle for a smooth transition to the Operations Support Center (OSC).
  • Estimated revenue recognition forecasting based on project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with AI ethics, data governance, and security protocols.
  • Support change management and post-project review processes.
  • Coordinate internal resources (human resources and consumables) for effective project execution.

Experience we are looking for:
  • 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within Information Technology
  • Priority consideration given to individuals with certification in Project Management, such as PMP
  • 2 years of experience as a Project Manager within Artificial Intelligence preferred, Software Development, or a related field or work experience managing projects encompassing any of the following technologies or disciplines;Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning implementations,Data Science project lifecycles,IT service & software implementation, orAgile/ SCRUM Project Management.
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Capable of handling multiple projects of various sizes simultaneously
  • Outstanding time management skills with a demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related applications
  • Proficiency in project planning, project management and various software tools, including, but not limited to, Monday.com to help manage tasks, resources, timelines, and communication.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to client sites for in-person meetings upon request

Work Environment Expectation
  • Most work is done sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Multiple video or phone calls will be a daily occurrence
  • Travel is typically scheduled in advance and is usually less than 25% of work time in a year
  • Flexibility to be available for occasional night and weekend implementation projects, when required.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio office. On-site hybrid role, regional travel may be required.
Salary for this position will be based on your experience, knowledge and skills. Estimated salary range is $80,000 - $100,000 annually.
