Civil Service Title: Physical Therapist (Competitive)
Minimum Requirements: 
(A) Possession of a valid license and currently registered by the New York State Education Department as a Physical Therapist; OR, 












(B) Possession of a Limited Permit to practice Physical Therapy issued by the New York State Education Department.
Desired Qualifications: 
Experience working with students with disabilities and understanding of child development 
Certification in CPI and/or TCI preferred 
Strong collaborative skills and ability to work with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families

Position Summary/Responsibilities: 
Position Summary:
The Greece Central School District is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide evaluation, assessment, consultation, planning, and implementation of physical therapy services for students across a variety of educational settings. The Physical Therapist will work collaboratively with educational staff, families, and related service providers to support each student's functional mobility, participation, and overall success in the learning environment.
Aligned with the district's mission to build a culture of high standards, engagement, and supportive relationships through equitable access to resources, opportunities, and partnerships, the Physical Therapist will ensure that students with disabilities receive individualized supports that maximize their ability to access and participate fully in school activities.











Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical therapy procedures upon written order or referral from a licensed physician, physician's assistant, or nurse practitioner. 
Evaluate students and recommend functional and mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs, ambulation devices, bathroom equipment) and provide training in their proper use. 
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement total care plans for students. 
Maintain accurate records and documentation per NYS regulations, Medicaid, and district policies, including evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, consultations, and discharge summaries. 
Consult with colleagues and administrators regarding students' medical status and functional needs. 
Provide training and guidance to staff and families to support therapy goals. 
Maintain and ensure the proper use of physical therapy equipment. 
Apply knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and practices to support student development. 
Demonstrate knowledge of pathological conditions, socio-economic factors, and community resources relevant to student disabilities. 
Train and monitor teachers and support staff in the performance of therapy-directed tasks. 
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships and communication with students, families, and colleagues. 
Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and maintain a daily schedule in accordance with district guidelines. 
Pursue ongoing professional development and life-long learning to enhance practice. 
Perform other duties as assigned that support student learning, well-being, and inclusion.
