Job description

Swaysland Professional Engineering Consultants, Inc. is a South Florida based structural engineering firm whose primary focus is developing repair procedures for existing structures, including high-rise residential buildings, hotels, parking garages, and commercial buildings.
As a Staff Engineer your main responsibility will be assisting Professional Engineer’s on various tasks associated with repair projects. Tasks can include existing condition assessments, preparation of repair plans and specifications, inspection of on-going repair work and various project management tasks. Staff Engineer’s will have multiple projects assigned to them at any given time making time management an important aspect of the job. You will be exposed to multitudes of existing building construction, repair procedures and construction techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Inspections: Assist in conducting site inspections to assess the condition and progress of structural projects. Document findings and collaborate with senior engineers to address any issues.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documents, including inspection reports, project plans, and technical specifications. Assist in organizing and updating project files and records.
  • Data Analysis: Support the analysis of inspection data and help interpret findings to ensure project compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to ensure effective communication and integration of field data with project documentation.
  • Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance your understanding of structural engineering practices and project management.
     
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
1–3 years of related engineering experience (varies by posting).
Engineering Intern (EI) license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Reliable transportation for site visits.
Preferred Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
