The Development Associate will support conceptual planning, design, and due diligence processes for commercial and storage development and redevelopment projects undertaken by SROA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support property due diligence by reviewing zoning and land development codes.
  • Conduct market research to inform decision-making processes.
  • Perform financial analysis studies to assess project feasibility.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Development to review consultant proposals, providing high-level comparison summaries.
  • Oversee planning, entitlements, permitting, and rezoning processes.
  • Manage external consultants, including surveyors and engineers.
  • Attend meetings with brokers, sellers, and municipalities to facilitate project coordination.
  • Assist in budgeting and invoicing activities.
  • Contribute to value engineering and plan reviews.
  • Source new development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a demonstrated interest in real estate development
  • Previous experience in real estate, construction, or related fields
  • Familiarity with real estate contracts
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong public speaking abilities
