Learning Content Designers often work with subject matter experts, use digital tools, and tailor materials for specific audiences or platforms. Their goal is to make learning effective, accessible, and enjoyable.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a learning content designer?

To succeed as a Learning Content Designer, you need expertise in instructional design principles, curriculum development, and usually a background in education or a related field. Job description

About the role
Wealthfront is looking for a Senior Content Designer to join the money movement team within our Cash product-our much-loved high-yield savings and checking experience. Cash is the hub of Wealthfront's financial ecosystem. Clients love it for its instant money movement, joint account access, and the way it simplifies earning more with their cash. This role reports directly to the Cash Design Director and is built for a designer who is energized by simplifying complexity and crafting clear, delightful experiences for our clients.
Wealthfront pioneered automated investing by offering broad access to sophisticated investing strategies at a fraction of the cost of traditional financial advisers. That formed the beginning of a much broader vision for how our products can serve our mission to build a financial system that favors people over institutions. Since then, we've continued to expand the ways we help our clients build long-term wealth through saving, investing, and more.
As a Senior Content Designer on the Cash team, you will be a key part of expanding how we help clients build long-term wealth by improving our money movement experiences. The Move team crafts all of the surfaces that enable our clients to access and deploy their cash in the Wealthfront ecosystem and beyond. You won't be designing in a silo; you'll be connecting the dots between Cash and the broader Wealthfront ecosystem to create a seamless financial home.
Design at Wealthfront
Designers at Wealthfront transform complex financial technology into simple and delightful experiences. Our commitment to our clients and high bar for craft set us apart from traditional financial institutions-fostering trust with our clients and empowering them to build lasting wealth on their own terms.
We pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail, consistently striving for excellence in all areas of our craft. We place just as much emphasis on the words we use to communicate with our clients as we do the interactive elements of our experiences. This shows up in our team structure: we have nearly a 1:1 ratio of content designers to product designers. Design plays an important role in the success of our business and we are active participants in various leadership forums.
Collaboration is at the core of our approach. We work closely with our counterparts in engineering, product management, research, data science, legal, and compliance to define opportunities and explore solutions. We are equal partners in making strategic decisions and defining impactful roadmaps. We embrace a culture of continuous learning and prioritize the magnitude of our successes over the percentage of times we are successful.
Most importantly, we love what we do! We are passionate about our mission, the financial technology space, and our clients. We take pride in our high bar, low ego culture.
We're a remote friendly team and open to candidates in the US.
About You
  • You have 5+ years of content design experience in a consumer software company. Experience in building financial technology products is a plus.
  • You have a portfolio that demonstrates how clear communication can make or break a product experience. This includes a range of content and writing abilities for product experiences such as product screens, notifications, microcopy, emails, FAQs, style guides, and patterns.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects across teams, navigate ambiguity, and quickly tailor effective content approaches within constraints. You influence the user experience beyond just content.
  • You take a collaborative mindset and have experience working across disciplines and with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. product managers, product designers, and engineers.)
  • You define and execute content design strategies for your team's products and features.
  • You understand UX design principles and best practices for mobile and web. You have an eye for the details and an interest in the finer points of wordsmithery.
  • You're deeply curious and interested in fintech.

Mindset that excels at Wealthfront
  • You embrace complexity, love engaging in intellectually rigorous discussions, and critically evaluate trade-offs from a customer and business perspective.
  • You transform ambiguity into clarity and navigates the organization to drive alignment.
  • You consistently put the company and the team first. You have the resilience to work through tough situations, step up, and lead the team.
  • You go above and beyond to make others around you successful.
  • You are enterprising and demonstrate high agency. You don't wait for change-you come to the table with proposals on how to improve.
  • You care deeply about learning and growing with the company.

Estimated annual salary: ~$162,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K plan with matching, generous time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursements, professional development, employee investing discount, and more!
