Job Description

This role supports the full lifecycle of training development for instructor-led and eLearning environments, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of training content. You will update and create presentations, assist with storyboards and narration, prepare multimedia assets, test eLearning courses for functionality, and maintain course documentation in SharePoint. Working under the guidance of instructional designers leads, you ensure that all training materials are high-quality, consistent, and aligned with established templates, learning objectives, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with learning and development consultants, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify training needs, define learning objectives, and understand target audience requirements.
  • Participate in meetings to gather content, clarify expectations, and collect stakeholder input, ensuring feedback is incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Design and develop comprehensive training curricula and instructional materials, including instructor-led presentations, participant guides, instructor guides, job aids, reference materials, and knowledge checks or assessments.
  • Convert source materials into professional, polished training deliverables using approved templates and standardized formats.
  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning best practices to create engaging, effective, clear, concise, and learner-centered content.
  • Ensure all materials align with organizational branding, formatting, and document governance standards, maintaining consistency across all deliverables.
  • Support ongoing content updates, revisions, and maintenance activities to ensure accuracy, version control, and compliance with established guidelines.
  • Format and organize training materials for usability and accessibility across multiple delivery methods, including instructor-led and eLearning formats.
  • Provide basic multimedia support, including recording and editing voice-over narration to support training delivery and narrated content.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and revisions for eLearning courses, using the learning management system to test course functionality as part of the QA/QC process and providing feedback to peers.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and key updates, maintaining accurate status tracking within project management tools.
  • Upload and maintain training content within the content management library, ensuring materials are accurate, complete, properly version-controlled, and aligned with established standards for internal teams, customers, and instructors.
  • Demonstrate strong project and time management by balancing multiple training projects, meeting deadlines, and keeping tasks organized.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of employee development programs by enhancing the effectiveness, clarity, and impact of training content.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of experience in instructional design and/or curriculum development is required for the Training Developer I level; additional experience levels are available for higher-level roles.
  • Proven experience developing training content for instructor-led training and eLearning environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in PowerPoint and Word for creating and formatting training deliverables.
  • Experience using learning management systems (LMS) to support eLearning deployment and testing.
  • Experience with instructional design principles and adult learning best practices.
  • Ability to translate technical, soft skills, or industry-specific content from subject matter experts into clear, accurate, and instructionally sound training materials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and produce high-quality learning content.
  • Technology proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint for organizing and maintaining course documentation.
  • Experience with voice-over narration, including recording and basic editing for training modules.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Pro for working with and finalizing training documents.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in all training materials and deliverables.
  • Effective project and time management skills to handle multiple training projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address learner challenges and optimize training content.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for building rapport with learners, peers, leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to core values such as a safety-first mindset, intentional inclusion, acting with integrity, and striving for superior performance.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with training development across multiple formats, including slide decks, storyboards, and eLearning modules.
  • Familiarity with authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline, and related platforms for creating interactive eLearning content.
