Your Role:

As the Early Learning Leader, you will be responsible for building the educational leadership capacity to support the growth and professional development of the teaching staff. The Early Learning Leader also plans and collaborates with both national and local Shine Early Learning staff to ensure effective and efficient operations across Head Start service areas within the program and across the Shine Early Learning network.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide individual and group support for education leads in implementing educational initiatives and coaching.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with Grantee Leadership, staff and community partners to ensure high-quality instruction and consistency of practices.

  • Mentor and coach the Education team; plan and implement comprehensive, differentiated and sequential professional development for education staff.

  • Plan and support the on-boarding of Early Learning Inclusion/Specialists and Education Leaders.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other service area leadership and initiatives ensuring timely and appropriate support for children with atypical needs as well as parent education and outreach activities are consistent with education goals and activities

  • Consistently contribute to program, network and professional excellence through productive leadership through participation in program planning and leadership (1:1 with DSI-, policy council relations, leadership team meetings), Shine Early Learning Transition Team meetings and othercollaboration meetings.

  • Track, monitor and ensure all Education and Disabilities/Mental Health SISS milestones are achieved and Transition Rubric benchmarks are met.

  • Support efforts to maintain program compliance with state/local licensing and QRIS.

  • Communicate with Implement Partner leadership on programmatic status, updates and any concerns regarding the classroom staff or facilities.

  • Provide training to Implement partner staff on education model and practices.

  • Collect and analyze data as a basis for decision making for program improvement.

  • Participate in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

  • Lead assigned department personnel, which may include providing oversight and input into hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, as well as ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by team members.

  • Educate team members on all department and company policies and procedures.

  • Meet with team members regularly to identify and resolve problems, manage projects, track goals, and review work processes and procedures.

  • Represent team and/or department at meetings, events, and training as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education OR Bachelor's degree in related field with at least six (6) courses in early childhood education and experience teaching preschool-aged children OR state awarded preschool teaching certification with experience teaching preschool aged children;master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience supervising and coaching teachers and education leaders; experience with early childhood education and special education strongly preferred; prior Head Start / Early Head Start experience a plus.

  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

  • Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
