 Your Role

As the Learning & Development Supervisor - Operations, you will lead the learning and training function for a dynamic 24/7 manufacturing operation, ensuring workforce capability, operational excellence, safety compliance, and employee development initiatives support business objectives.

  • Develop and execute the site learning and development strategy aligned with operational, safety, quality, and business goals.
  • Lead and coach a team of four unionized Training Coordinators, establishing priorities, providing direction, and supporting their professional development.
  • Build strong relationships with operations, maintenance, safety, quality, and human resources leaders to identify capability gaps and develop effective learning solutions.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve training programs for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Develop and maintain training matrices, qualification standards, and employee development plans.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics and operational results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, employee engagement, and knowledge sharing throughout the facility.
  • Update and maintain learning materials, procedures, work instructions, and training documentation.
  • Incorporate adult learning principles and best practices to maximize knowledge retention and application.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement through targeted learning initiatives.

 

What You Bring

You're a natural fit for Learning and Development Supervisor - Operations if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Business, Training & Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, Workforce Development, Operations Development, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience leading, supervising, or coordinating training personnel, teams, or site learning initiatives required.
  • Experience building learning curriculums, qualification programs, career pathways, and skills development plans within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated capability supporting Lean Manufacturing culture and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with MS365, learning management systems and other training technologies.
