Job description

This highly regarded regional hospital is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for an exceptional opportunity to champion family-centered birthing care in a collaborative, high-acuity setting. Ideal for a compassionate clinician energized by fast-paced moments and meaningful patient connections.
The Labor & Delivery RN will join an approximately 300-bed, not-for-profit medical center with a strong culture of safety and quality. The hospital supporting the Labor & Delivery RN is Magnet-recognized, accredited by The Joint Commission, and proud of perinatal quality achievements that elevate outcomes for parents and newborns.
The Labor & Delivery RN reports to the Nurse Manager of Labor & Delivery and the Director of Women & Infants Services. In daily practice, the role partners closely with obstetricians, certified nurse-midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and lactation consultants, with strong support from patient care technicians and unit coordinators. Additionally, the position may precept new team members and assume charge responsibilities on rotation to support unit flow and outcomes. On a dynamic unit designed for family-centered care, the Labor & Delivery RN will care for a diverse patient population across triage, labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum, with about a dozen LDR suites, dedicated OB operating rooms, and rapid access to neonatal specialty services, supporting roughly 2,000-3,000 births annually. The Labor & Delivery RN manages precise documentation, participates in performance improvement and Magnet-driven initiatives, supports cost stewardship, and rotates into charge as needed. Candidates earning quick interviews hold an active New York RN license and bring at least five years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
