Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery (Night Shift)

Location: Winchester, Massachusetts
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Rotating weekends & holidays
Position Type: Travel/Contract
Start Date: May 19, 2025

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a respected hospital in Winchester, MA for a night shift travel contract. This role requires a compassionate and clinically skilled RN who can provide exceptional care throughout the childbirth process, from labor through delivery and postpartum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum.
  • Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart tones, and labor progression.
  • Administer medications, including induction agents and epidurals, and assist during obstetric emergencies.
  • Prepare for and assist with both vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
  • Support patients and families through education and reassurance.
  • Accurately document patient care using the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted Massachusetts RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in an acute care setting
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency procedures
  • Strong communication and patient education skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification a plus
  • Prior experience in high-acuity Labor & Delivery units is an asset

  • Local candidates will not be considered (must reside at least 50 miles outside Winchester, MA)
  • This is a fast-paced, patient-focused environment offering an excellent opportunity to gain valuable L&D experience
