Job Title: Senior Systems & IT Support Engineer

Department: IT Supervisor: IT Manager Location: Raleigh, NC

Pay Type: Salaried

Hiring Range: DOQ

8- Hour Shift, Monday – Friday

 

Position Summary

The Senior Systems & IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support while managing the company’s IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environment, cybersecurity, and network operations. This position serves as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and supports users across all company locations. The role also leads IT projects, works with vendors, and helps maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment.


Position Duties and Responsibilities

       IT Support

- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support.

- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices.

- Resolve complex technical issues.

- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding.

- Deploy and configure computers and other IT equipment.


Microsoft 365 Administration

- Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

- Administer Entra ID users, groups, licenses, and MFA.

- Maintain email security and user permissions.


Systems Administration

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and IT systems.

- Monitor system performance and availability.

- Perform software updates and patch management.

- Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.


Network Administration

- Support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and VLANs.

- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

- Coordinate with ISPs and network vendors.


Cybersecurity

- Maintain security policies and best practices.

- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents.

- Manage endpoint protection and security software.

- Conduct employee cybersecurity awareness training.

- Assist with compliance and security documentation.


IT Projects

- Lead or assist with infrastructure and cloud projects.

Minimum Requirements


Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

- 5+ years of IT support or systems administration experience.

- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.

- Experience with networking and cybersecurity.
