Where do IT managers work?

As an IT manager, you can find jobs in nearly every industry and every geographic location. Technology companies, financial institutions, health care companies, consulting firms, schools and universities, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies all need IT managers to maintain and optimize their computers and networks. As an IT manager, your work hours are typically during regular business hours, but you have to work some evenings and weekends. As you gain experience in IT management jobs, you may have opportunities to move up to positions such as chief technical officer (CTO) or chief information security officer (CISO).
