What does an IT manager do?

As an IT manager, you oversee the information technology aspects of a company. Your job duties include supervising IT staff, working with product vendors, and managing the maintenance and upgrades of the company's hardware and software systems. Your responsibilities are the management and the security of the company’s IT infrastructure. Depending on your company’s size, you coordinate with the internal software development team or with outside vendors to find cost-effective solutions for the company’s IT needs, based on functionality and scalability.
