We help children ages 0 through 5 by supporting parents, providing connections to resources and programs, and offering ways toย monitorย and enhance early childhood development. Job Overviewย
Community Engagement Projectย interns gain practical, hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting. This is a unique internship for those seeking experience withย community engagement strategies, partner relations,ย andย project management. Theย Community Engagement Projectย intern will be part of a larger team that provides support to other areasย of the organization as needed.ย This internship position is unpaid, but interns will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to the internship (food, housing, transportation), and college credit can be earned.ย
This internship is to be completed in person, not virtually.ย Furthermore, this internship position will require the intern to attend some eventsย occurringย on weekends and weeknights;ย however, those event attendance hours will count towardsย the total hoursย neededย for the internship.ย Required event attendance willย accommodateย theย internโsย schedule as much as possible, butย flexibilityย in theย internโsย schedule is preferred.ย
This in-person internship will run from August 31st, 2026, through December 18th, 2026, and will have aย mandatoryย orientation onโฏThursday, August 27th,โฏfrom 9:00am-2:00pm at the Family Futuresโ office. This internship can also be extended into the next internship period for a second semester.ย Ifย interested in a longer internship period, please reach out to the hiring manager.ย
Family Futures employees, volunteers, and interns serve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve. A position at Family Futures may entail the following: the use of a personal vehicle, lifting of boxes (roughly 25ย lbs.), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduled hours.ย For any adaptations or accommodations for the above information, please reach out to the hiring manager.ย

- Gaining knowledge of the general principles ofย community engagementย
- Creating andย modifyingย documents using Microsoft Officeย
- Inputting and analyzing data in various online platforms and spreadsheetsย
- Eventย and Tablingย attendanceย
- Assistingย with email managementย
- Assistingย withย procedures for eventsย and community engagementย
- Attendingย and supportingย different community coalitionsย andย workgroupย effortsย
- Assisting Community Engagement Team with tasksย
- โWe are not in theย community;ย we are aย part of the communityโย
Required Qualificationsย
- Current college student or recent graduateย
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamย
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including public speakingย
- Effective time management and organizationย
- Ability toย maintainย confidentialityย
- Ability to work at least 15 hours per weekย
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of peopleย ย
