Mother Baby RN Position Summary
The Mother Baby RN provides nursing care for mother and newborn baby practicing couplet care. The Mother Baby RN use a strong skill set to recognize and act upon postpartum emergencies for both mom and baby while also providing support, encouragement and education. The Mother Baby RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The Mother Baby RN acts as a patient advocate. The Mother Baby RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
Mother Baby RN Position Requirements
  • Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS

Mother Baby RN Work Schedule
  • May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
  • Scheduled off at least three holidays per year.
  • Required to work weekends per unit need.
  • Expected to work overtime on occasion.
