Overview
Shift: Part Time; 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Join our team as a Mother/Baby Nurse! Our Maternal Child unit offers a dynamic and supportive environment featuring Labor & Delivery, a Mother/Baby Unit, and a Level II NSCU. We care for approximately 1,000 deliveries each year and provide comprehensive obstetric services with dedicated OR suites, 24/7 UPH OB Hospitalist coverage, and CRNA support to ensure exceptional care for every family.
Mother/Baby nurses rotate through the Core Nursery, assist with deliveries, and care for postpartum and gynecological patients. We offer a preceptor-led orientation, 12-hour shifts, every third weekend and holiday rotation, limited floating within Maternal Child units, and flexible scheduling that supports work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice.
  • Monitor patient conditions, apply critical thinking skills, and make independent clinical judgments to support positive patient outcomes.
  • Accurately and promptly document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
  • Delegate and coordinate patient care activities while providing guidance and support to other healthcare team members.
  • Promote patient safety and education by utilizing age-appropriate teaching strategies, preventing errors and infections, and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain ACLS
