Personal Lines Account Manager

Location: Columbus, OH (Hybridโ€”3 Days In Office)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established independent insurance agency committed to exceptional service and building lasting client relationships. They are seeking an experienced Personal Lines Account Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3โ€“5 years of personal lines insurance experience who enjoys helping clients protect what matters most while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

The agency offers a hybrid work schedule (three days in the office, two days remote), competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for continued professional growth.

Position Summary

The Personal Lines Account Manager will service an established book of personal insurance business while delivering an outstanding client experience. This individual will work closely with clients, producers, and carrier partners to manage policy changes, renewals, coverage questions, and account retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and service an assigned book of personal lines insurance accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding policy servicing, renewals, and coverage questions.
  • Process endorsements, policy changes, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and new business applications.
  • Prepare and review renewal proposals to ensure clients maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Educate clients on available coverage options and identify opportunities for cross-selling additional insurance products.
  • Work directly with carrier underwriters to obtain quotes, resolve policy issues, and negotiate coverage solutions.
  • Issue certificates, evidence of insurance, ID cards, and other policy documents as needed.
  • Maintain accurate client records within the agency management system.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries while delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Collaborate with producers and other team members to support account retention and agency growth.
Qualifications
  • 3โ€“5 years of personal lines account management experience with an independent insurance agency or brokerage.
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License.
  • Strong knowledge of personal insurance products, including: Homeowners, Auto, Umbrella, Dwelling Fire, Personal Articles, Recreational Vehicles, Watercraft.
  • Experience managing policy renewals, endorsements, billing questions, and coverage reviews.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft, EZLynx, or similar platforms.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CISR, CIC, or other industry designations (or interest in pursuing them).
  • Experience with comparative rating systems and multiple carrier platforms.
  • Proven ability to cross-sell or identify additional coverage needs while maintaining a consultative approach.
