Job description

Job Title: Systems Administrator
Clearance Required: DHS Public Trust, US Citizen (Secret Clearance or above preferred)
Work Location: Onsite; Lorton, VA.

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Systems Administrator in support of our DHS ICE customer.

Alpha Omega is Seeking a multidiscipline IT professional with primary responsibility for Microsoft SQL administration and Windows systems administration. The ideal candidate will manage, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL environments while also supporting automation and systems operations through advanced PowerShell scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support enterprise systems, including database platforms, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure system performance and availability.
  • Develop and utilize automation tools and scripts to support system management and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and implement corrective actions to maintain stability and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integrations, upgrades, and continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 10+ years of professional IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing, modifying, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL environments (e.g., installs, upgrades, performance tuning, backup/restore, security).
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced PowerShell scripting for administration, automation, and reporting.
  • Experience administering HyperV virtualized environments and managing hybrid Active Directory integrations between onpremises AD and Azure AD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Cloud Solutions (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure VMs, PaaS/IaaS data services).
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure and related storage/compute integrations.
  • Experience with Azure Local deployments.
  • Storage administration experience, including tapebased storage.
  • Experience with identity management (e.g., AD, AAD, RBAC integration).
  • Experience supporting or participating in incident response activities, including troubleshooting, containment, and recovery.

Desired Certification(s):

  • SQL certification; Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate certification preferred.

 

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $70,000 - $130,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
