Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
The Lab will investigate host-pathogen and host-microbiome interactions in metabolic, autoimmune, and oncologic diseases using a combination of molecular biology, cell signaling, immunology, and multi-omics approaches. Particularly interested in how viral and microbial factors modulate host receptors, immune responses, and metabolic pathways. The Post-Doctoral Associate will lead independent projects, perform in vivo and in vitro experiments, analyze high-dimensional data, and contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation. The position is designed to support multiple ongoing research directions, regardless of specific funding sources, and to provide training in cutting-edge techniques and career development.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Performs independent research involving mammalian cell culture, receptor signaling assays, in vivo mouse models, and molecular or immunological techniques under the PI's guidance.
  • Meets with the principal investigator to establish goals and objectives for ongoing projects.
  • Communicates regularly with the PI regarding experimental progress, data interpretation, and project direction.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate experimental records, including electronic lab notebooks.
  • Trains and supports staff (technicians, students) in laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and animal colony management.

Minimum Education and Experience
