Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Import/Export Logistics Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of domestic and international shipments in support of our production and shipping operations. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across internal teams, carriers, and logistics partners.

This is a hands-on, on-site role aligned closely with our Production and Shipping teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Work Schedule

  • Four (4) 10-hour days aligned with Production and Shipping schedules
  • Schedule determined by operational needs
  • Overtime required based on shipping volume and production demands
  • Must be available during core operational hours
  • On-site position (remote work not available)

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Import/Export Operations

  • Manage end-to-end shipment processes (air, ocean, and domestic)
  • Coordinate FCL, LCL, parcel, LTL, and full truckload shipments
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwarders
  • Track shipments and provide real-time updates
  • Support urgent and production-driven shipments

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, and export documentation
  • Ensure proper HTS/Schedule B classification
  • Maintain accurate import/export records
  • Coordinate customs clearance with brokers
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and Incoterms

Production & Shipping Support

  • Partner closely with Production and Shipping teams
  • Align shipment schedules with production timelines
  • Support same-day and priority shipments
  • Assist with staging and execution planning
  • Ensure timely shipment of completed orders

Carrier & Freight Management

  • Communicate with freight forwarders and logistics providers
  • Negotiate shipping rates and provide recommendations
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries
  • Resolve delays, issues, and service disruptions

Tracking & Systems

  • Enter and manage transportation data in ERP systems
  • Maintain shipment tracking, milestones, and audit trails
  • Monitor shipment progress from departure to proof of delivery
  • Provide status updates to internal stakeholders

Communication & Customer Support

  • Provide timely shipment updates to internal teams and customers
  • Resolve shipment and documentation issues
  • Maintain professional, clear communication
  • Support order fulfillment deadlines

Cost & Process Management

  • Review freight costs and identify savings opportunities
  • Ensure accurate billing and cost tracking
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics
  • Recommend and implement process improvements

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of import/export or logistics experience preferred
  • Experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of air, ocean, and domestic transportation
  • Understanding of customs clearance and import/export documentation
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
