Job description

Hayward Holdings Inc. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.
Position Overview:
The Import & Export Specialist will support Hayward's Global Transportation and Trade
Compliance functions, ensuring compliance with international regulations while optimizing
import and export operations. This role is responsible for export and import documentation,
import/export compliance activities related to document creation, and coordination with
internal teams and external partners.
The Specialist will also play a key role in system migration initiatives, process
improvements, and cost reduction efforts, working cross-functionally with logistics,
commodities, international suppliers, IT, freight forwarders, brokers.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares, reviews, and ensures accuracy of import and export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, SLI/SED, etc.)
  • Overseas import and export documentation and record retention in accordance with compliance requirements and internal policies.
  • Performs tariff classification (HS codes) analysis and country of origin determination
  • Ensures compliance with export and import regulations and internal procedures • Coordinates and resolve documentation issues to ensure timely and accurate shipment release
  • Supports operation freight forwarders, customs brokers, and agents to support daily operations and compliance
  • Communicates with Chambers of Commerce and other agencies for certified export documentation when required
  • Serves as a point of contact for international customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, when necessary.
  • Supports system implementations and interfaces with global management software (e.g., D365 and other platforms)
  • Identifies and support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Collaborates with IT and cross-functional teams on process improvements and automation projects D365
  • Maintains strong working relationships with global logistics providers and service partners
  • Performs other related duties as assigned such as Country of Origin, preparation of USMCA certificates.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 3+ years of experience in import/export document preparation and other trade compliance supportive documentation
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, export documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Familiar with tariff classification and country of origin rules
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with global stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems such as D365 or AS400

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee normally works in an office environment but occasionally will be exposed to a warehouse & manufacturing environment.
