Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee racing office staff and operations
• Take Entries
• Check weights and eligibility
• Hustle overnight races
• Get final from racing secretary
• Set the races for the draw
• Make sure stewards have been notified that we are drawing
• Assist with draw when necessary
• Make sure any issues are communicated to racing secretary and / or director and stewards if necessary
• Proof Overnight
• Input, proof and distribute stake nominations
• Ability to work required overtime
• Regular punctual attendance required
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous responsibilities
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
• Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often challenging environment where multiple tasks and events may occur simultaneously
• Must have the highest of moral integrity and a strong work ethic
Education and Experience Requirements
  • At least Five (5) years of related experience as a licensed racing official.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
• Occasionally required to stand, walk and sit throughout the assigned shift
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
