Job description

Overview

The Principal Implementation Consultant is responsible for implementing the company's software products with its customers. Using their extensive knowledge of the BlackLine application, they're able to advise customers on best practices and work through complex requirements to configure BlackLine to perform as needed. The role also provides subject matter leadership and expertise within the department.

Responsibilities
  • Drives and manages all project phases and milestones to completion within budget, scope, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manages a diverse portfolio and delivers large-scale implementation projects of multiple, concurrent, complex or enterprise-level projects with little supervision.
  • Mentors and advises less experienced ICs/Senior ICs on BlackLine implementation processes and procedures
  • Provides advisement on industry best practices for use in the configuration of the BlackLine suite of products
  • Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Creates and maintains documentation throughout the implementation to include " management of project budget, data requirements, project timelines, issue trackers and risk mitigation plans, etc.
  • Utilizes business acumen, Accounting/Finance Industry knowledge, and product knowledge to serve as a trusted advisor and become an application expert to address client use cases and business challenges.
  • Collaborates with all key stakeholders regarding project progress and next steps in a real time manner.
  • Provides training and guidance to customers throughout the project.
  • Addresses complex client requirements in multiple modules, working with other teams at BlackLine to devise and implement related solutions.
  • Collaborates and contributes to team goals and successes, including development of new processes, partnering cross-org to assist with product development, identifying implementation process improvements, and delivering training across the teams and subject matter expertise
  • Elicits, documents, interprets and translates client business requirements to be used for application configuration and project delivery.
  • Assesses, troubleshoots, and tests BlackLine products during the implementation cycle.
  • Manages and sets expectations with stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle, as well as the pre-sales process
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience in Consulting Services, Client Services and/or Professional Services environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous project management experience in a revenue driven environment (e.g. Time and materials billing)
  • Demonstrated successful completion of multiple, complex enterprise-level client implementation projects
  • Proven experience to balance multiple projects at any given time and stay on top of all details
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and presenting to a diverse set of people across groups and organizational levels
  • Experience in SaaS industry and/or Software, as well as issues related to installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Experience with large scale ERP systems including SAP and Oracle
  • Advanced Knowledge/experience in Accounting, Audits, Financial Services, Software Technology, SaaS industry and/or related experience
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation/conflict resolution skills
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to deliver world-class service and high-impact results while navigating challenging situations
