Job description

Hexcel is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our Decatur, AL, USA, location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Provide both strategic leadership and tactical human resources support to maximize the local human capital of the assigned business enabling the achievement of its strategies and objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Plant Manager and a member of the Site Leadership team; provide input and counsel on business, people, and organizational issues.
  • Manage and administer human resources programs and policies for all Decatur employees as well as the development and implementation of local human resource policies and procedures.
  • Act as a leader to facilitate and maintain strong employee relations. Works with site leadership to achieve a culture of strong employee engagement and inclusion.
  • Develop, manage and execute the plant staffing plan; manage recruitment and onboarding of all hourly and salaried positions, internships, temporary workers.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Facilitate the execution of the annual succession and career development planning and training and development activities.
  • Work with plant management to manage performance issues, providing coaching and counseling as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of human resources management experience in an industrial environment, or master’s degree with equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Strong employee relations experience required.  
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish relevant facts and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office Suite – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Understanding of HRIS systems – knowledge of Workday is a plus.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including effective group presentation expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership coaching and team development required; experience in change management highly desired.
  • This is an on-site role; regular daily attendance on company premises is required.
