Human Resources Manager

Location: Huntsville, AL (100% on-site)

Brown Technologies is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations at our Huntsville, AL office. This is a mid-level, on-site position supporting a fast-paced government contracting environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and employee records
  • Administer payroll and HRIS functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all transactions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and government contracting requirements (e.g., SCA, FLSA, EEO/AAP, OFCCP)
  • Support full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, interview coordination, and offer processing
  • Administer leave programs (FMLA, ADA accommodations) and workers' compensation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and recommending resolutions
  • Maintain and audit personnel files with strict attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Develop, document, and improve HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports for leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4–7 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist and/or HR management responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law and HR compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, AL (this position is not remote-eligible)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a DoD/government contracting environment, including familiarity with security clearance processing and OFCCP/AAP compliance
  • Hands-on experience with ADP (Workforce Now or similar)
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification
