Government Contracting Firm

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to join our team at a firm specializing in government contracting. The HR Assistant will support daily HR operations, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and help maintain a positive workplace culture. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, adaptable, and interested in growing their HR career within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes for employees and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and contract-specific requirements (e.g., E-Verify, background checks, security clearances).
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Track and report employee timekeeping, leave, and attendance in accordance with contract and DOL requirements.
  • Prepare HR documentation, reports, and correspondence as needed.
  • Help coordinate training and compliance programs, including annual certifications and government-mandated trainings.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Support HR audits and assist with maintaining compliance documentation for government contracts.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of HR experience; experience in government contracting or a regulated industry is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HR processes, labor law, and compliance (FLSA, EEO, OFCCP, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
