Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We wantall ofour people to go beyond what is possible. We aren't constrained by typical end rails, and we aren't out to just "treat" people. We're all in this for something more. We're driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How You Will Achieve More:

Intellia Therapeutics, a pioneer in gene editing, is preparing for its first launch of one-time gene editing therapies for rare and serious diseases, including hereditary angioedema (HAE) and transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR). The Senior Director, HEOR & Evidence Strategy will be responsible for setting and executing the integrated evidence strategy to demonstrate value and enable durable access, while also leading Field HEOR to drive payer engagement and inform U.S. coverage and reimbursement decisions.

This role is the linchpin between global evidence generation and U.S. payer-facing execution-overseeing the Director, HEOR & Evidence Strategy and managing the Field HEOR team. The Senior Director will translate science and economics into compelling value narratives, ensure evidence is embedded into clinical development, and directly support national and large regional payer strategies with robust, credible data.

This is a highly strategic, hands-on role that is ideal for an experienced HEOR professional who thrives in fast-paced, build-from-scratch environments and understands the complexity of launching innovative, high-value therapies.

Responsibilities:

Evidence Strategy & HEOR Leadership

  • Own the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP) across programs; align with clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial strategy.
  • Design and implement global HEOR strategies to support pricing, reimbursement, and launch readiness across major markets (U.S. and ex-U.S.).
  • Lead development of evidence frameworks for one-time gene editing therapies (lifetime value, durability, long-term uncertainty).
  • Oversee primary/secondary research (e.g., HTA scans, systematic literature reviews, retrospective analyses, burden of illness, time & motion studies).

Value Demonstration & Launch Deliverables

  • Direct development of cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models (BIM), and scenario analyses for payer decision-making.
  • Lead creation and continuous refinement of value narratives, global value dossiers (GVD), AMCP Dossier, and payer decks.
  • Coordinate HTA submissions and engagement (e.g., NICE, ICER), ensuring methodological rigor and alignment with local value frameworks.
  • Ensure evidence and economic modeling are integrated into pricing strategy, access models, and value-based agreement designs.

Real-World Evidence (RWE) & Outcomes Research

  • Oversee RWE strategy to demonstrate durability, effectiveness, and safety post-launch; develop PROs and quality-of-life instruments fit for rare disease.
  • Guide claims/data collaborations and outcomes research to inform unmet need, treatment pathways, and value demonstration across stakeholders.
  • Lead scientific communications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts) and congress representation.

Field HEOR Leadership & Payer Engagement (U.S.)

  • Build and lead the Field HEOR team; serve as the senior scientific leader for payer-facing HEOR engagements across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid segments.
  • Partner with National Account Directors on account planning, segmentation, and tailored evidence deployment to optimize payer engagement.
  • Present clinical, economic, and RWE data to Medical and Pharmacy Directors; address medical policy development and utilization management strategies.
  • Train and mentor field teams and National Account Directors on HEOR concepts, evidence interpretation, and value messaging; ensure field readiness for launch.
  • Identify payer-focused RWE collaborations and data projects that inform coverage pathways and mitigate access barriers.
  • Provide actionable insights from payer interactions to inform internal evidence generation, value proposition development, and overall access strategy including mitigation of coverage barriers.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Insights

  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of a compelling value proposition for Intellia's therapies, aligning clinical innovation with payer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical development, biostatistics, regulatory, medical affairs, market access, and commercial teams to align evidence strategy with business objectives. Support internal functions on scientific exchange needs to shape coverage and reimbursement policies as well as payer utilization management strategies.
  • Translate payer insights into evidence plan refinements, model assumptions, and policy-shaping activities.
  • Represent Intellia in external forums to shape the HEOR/HTA landscape for innovative therapies.

Gene Editing & Rare Disease Considerations

  • Develop and champion approaches for lifetime value demonstration, small-sample evidence generation, novel endpoints, and long-term follow-up.
  • Establish frameworks for long-term evidence commitments and innovative access models, including outcomes-based and value-based agreements (VBAs). Support the design of concepts, selection of meaningful endpoints, and tracking frameworks to enable innovative value-based agreements with payers.

People Leadership, Operations & Governance

  • Directly manage the Director, HEOR & Evidence Strategy and the Field HEOR team; set goals, coach performance, and build capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of scientific literature, clinical trial data, economic evaluations, and policy developments to strengthen Intellia's access narrative.
  • Own HEOR budgets, vendor/consultant management, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance and scientific integrity in external engagements and publications.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervisor for Director, HEOR & Evidence Strategy; Field HEOR Team Lead; Capability lead for HEOR to potentially include future FTEs as Intellia scales

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of payer decision-making, health economics methodologies, and value demonstration strategies.
  • Experience engaging directly with payers and presenting clinical and economic evidence.
  • Ability to identify and drive real-world evidence projects that address payer needs.
  • Expertise in the development and/or deployment of payer launch deliverables
  • Proven track record of success in both field-based HEOR roles (payer-facing) and in-house HEOR roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with account teams, medical affairs, and clinical development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in rare disease, cell/gene therapy, or advanced therapeutics preferred.
  • BS/BA and Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, PhD, PharmD, MD, MS in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Public Health, or related field).
  • 10+ years of experience in HEOR, market access, or payer strategy within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Minimum 5+ years HEOR payer facing experience or prior field HEOR/ payer medical; prior experience supporting value based contracting discussions preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payer evidence needs particularly with high-cost, specialty or gene therapies covered under medical benefit
  • Strong grasp of healthcare policy, reimbursement systems (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) and medical policy development
