Healthcare Controller

Location: Malibu, CA | Full Time

Passages Addiction Treatment Center is seeking a Controller, who will be responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Prepares timely and accurate financial statements, including KPIs and trend analysis
  • Preform month end close
  • Prepare budget reports and cash flow forecasts
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and operational best practices to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting
  • Supervises Accounting and Revenue Cycle staff
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage accounting technology systems

Qualification Guidelines:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with accounting software, Word, Excel, and financial reporting tools
  • Understanding of insurance billing, reimbursement models, and revenue cycle management
  • High level of strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting preferred

Education / Experience / Credentials:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 4 years as a controller in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Current CPR / 1st Aid certification required, or will complete training upon hire
  • Current, valid California Driver License with good driving record (in sole discretion of company) required

Physical Demands:

  • Normal demands associated with an office
  • Work on computers for prolonged periods of time
  • Recognize faces
  • Distinguish colors as necessary
  • Hear sufficiently and speak clearly on the telephone, in person, and in the environment, identify and distinguish sounds associated with the workplace
  • See adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position

Other

  • This position requires local travel to other company locations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties
  • Must fulfill pre-employment conditions: tuberculosis screening (annually thereafter), background check (including criminal and driving record check), drug screening, and reference checks. Ongoing monitoring and screenings during employment in accordance with the law and company policy.
