Job description

A skilled nursing organization in Brooklyn is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support back-office procurement operations for the facility.

This role is responsible for managing purchasing activities, coordinating orders with vendors, and ensuring departments have the supplies and resources needed for daily operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in healthcare purchasing systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage purchasing and ordering of supplies for facility departments
• Work closely with vendors to coordinate pricing, orders, and deliveries
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of essential items
• Track purchasing records and maintain accurate documentation
• Coordinate with department heads including Nursing, Dietary, and Maintenance
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficient purchasing practices
• Ensure purchasing processes follow company policies and procedures

Qualifications
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Purchasing Specialist or in a similar role
• Healthcare purchasing experience required
