Job Summary
Our client, a growing coffee retail organization is seeking a Junior IT Hardware Analyst to support the daily management and lifecycle of company hardware assets, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, monitors, and peripherals. This role is responsible for handling hardware requests, coordinating equipment purchases, preparing devices for deployment, maintaining inventory records, and supporting onboarding and offboarding processes.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and interested in building a career in IT operations, hardware support, and asset management.
Responsibilities
Hardware Request Management
  • Process employee hardware requests through the IT ticketing system.
  • Obtain necessary approvals and create purchase requests.
  • Place hardware orders with approved vendors.
  • Track orders and delivery status.
  • Communicate shipment and delivery timelines to employees and managers.
  • Coordinate urgent hardware requests and expedited shipments as needed.

Hardware Receiving and Deployment
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming hardware shipments.
  • Register new equipment within the IT Asset Management (ITAM) system.
  • Configure and deploy Windows and macOS devices using standard company builds.
  • Install required software and security tools before deployment.
  • Package and ship equipment to remote employees.
  • Set up workstations and hardware for on-site employees.

Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including asset tags, serial numbers, warranty information, assigned users, and storage locations.
  • Manage hardware assigned to new hires and existing employees.
  • Coordinate equipment collection during employee offboarding.
  • Perform device health checks, secure data wiping, and redeployment activities.
  • Support inventory audits and asset reconciliation efforts.
  • Coordinate hardware repairs, warranty services, and vendor RMA requests.

Logistics and Administration
  • Maintain organized inventory and storage areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels for accessories such as chargers, docks, adapters, keyboards, and monitors.
  • Assist with hardware disposal and e-waste recycling in accordance with company policies.
  • Create and maintain documentation for hardware procedures and workflows.
  • Support process improvements related to asset tracking and hardware fulfillment.

Required Qualifications
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, IT operations, or related administrative/logistics roles.
  • High School Diploma or Associate Degree required.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common peripherals.
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, Freshdesk, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail when tracking assets, serial numbers, and inventory records.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and assist with inventory setup and organization.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA A+ certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools.
  • Exposure to endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Basic understanding of device provisioning, imaging, and deployment processes.
