Position Title:                    IT Client Support, Technology & Engineer Fellow
Hourly Rate:                     $21.00 (Undergraduate)
 
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
 
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The MTA Information Technology (IT) department's mission is to deliver innovative and responsive solutions that enable safe, effective, and efficient transportation operations which strategically align with the overarching corporate MTA goals. IT will partner with all MTA business units to understand the overall information needs of the transportation agencies and the communities they serve to optimize the adoption and use of information technology.  
 
The fellow will support the deployment of Windows 11 operating systems to desktops across the MTA organization. They will support the team in resolving any incidents or request for technical support related to this deployment and manage any related documentation. This position begins in Fall 2026; candidates should be ready to commit minimum of 12‑months in the role.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Configuring workstations to run the new Windows 11 system.
  • Assisting the IT Mobile desktop team and handling incidents and tasks.
  • Documenting the completion of tasks and incidents related to new system deployment.
  • Inventory Management of new desktops.
  • Assist on IT Projects.
  • Installing computers.
  • Support end users with new Windows 11 system.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues with new Windows 11 system implementation.
 
PROJECTS:
  • Resolving incident tickets, the intern will directly improve service availability and end-user satisfaction.
  • Support the clearing of backlogs.
  • Create comprehensive documentation will improve knowledge transfer, reduce errors, and empower users, providing a vital foundation for efficient IT operations and long-term stability at the MTA.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA.
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer Information Science, or related field.
