THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a Human Resource Analyst 1 to perform Classification work in their Human Resources Office located at the Harrisburg Headquarters. This role participates in work that guides staffing decisions, ensures effective HR practices, and keeps the organization operating efficiently. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides human resource support in the areas of classification, organization management, job specification development, and position description maintenance. Our team will rely on your analysis, guidance, and technical expertise to help ensure accurate job structures, clear documentation, and well-informed HR decision making. As a Human Resource Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Classification Advice: Review and analyze the types of work performed by clerical, technical, and professional occupations; make relevant comparisons and develop analytical reports, which include comprehensive recommendations
- Organization Management Support: Assist with requests for reorganization by reviewing and revising functional statements, staffing charts, and organizational reporting relationships
- Job Specification Development: Perform appropriate job analysis and pay studies, prepare new and revised class specifications as needed
- Position Description Maintenance: Help supervisors update and ensure the accuracy of position descriptions, essential functions, and performance standards for new and existing positions
- Data Reporting: Generate workforce and other reports from databases, write analytical reports
- Technical Consultation: Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on classification practices and HR procedures, develop and conduct HR related trainings, prepare memoranda and emails to answer inquiries

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Human Resource Management Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year as a Human Resource Assistant 2 or an Equal Opportunity Assistant (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of paraprofessional analytical experience and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
