Job description

Title: Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Product Owner (PO)
Location: Huntsville, AL
Status: Full Time
Position Description:
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of the development software for the Infrastructure Services & Libraries (ISL) team. The position will include reviewing/understanding Systems Engineering concepts/designs/algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The PO will support the team in the development of acceptance criteria for software updates and be responsible for their verification. The product owner will work with Program Management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects for the team for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings, demonstrations and advisement to leadership. The product owner will report on status; recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate will need to have a good understanding of at least some of the following: ansible and/or other scripting languages; data logging and archiving best practices; weapon system component health & status reporting best practices; the DDS standard; C++ and Java code. The candidate must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers.
The candidate must:
●    Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset
●    Be a US citizen
●    Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences or mathematics,
●    Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above,
Other Qualifications:
An additional plus is knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS. The ability to “move out” and champion your ideas, architectures, designs, enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and a team attitude are very important. Experience in JIRA/Confluence is a plus.

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
