Job description

Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.
Ellwood Crankshaft Group has an opening for a full-time Human Resource Generalist in Hermitage, PAThis salaried-exempt position will report directly to the ECG Human Resource Director and assist with the leadership of the Human Resources function for ECG. Occasional scheduled and unscheduled off-hour duties may be required. The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following essential job functions:
  1. Maintain employee relation programs, policies and procedures and employee morale in support of company philosophies.
  2. Assist employment related matters including hiring, new hire orientations and Affirmative Action efforts.
  3. Assist in the administration of all benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, AD&D, HIPAA, 5500s, 401 (k), COBRA, Summary Plan Descriptions, attendance etc.
  4. Responsible for the analyzing and tracking of benefit expenses.
  5. Assist the Human Resources Director in maintaining legal compliance.
  6. Responsible for the hourly and salary payroll processing.
  7. Responsible for time and attendance enrollment, company vacation tracking and processing.
  8. Coordinate work flow through the Human Resources Department.
  9. Plan, coordinate, and execute Wellness Fairs, Random Drug Testing and other ECM events.
  10. Maintain all confidential HR records using an HRIS system and other Human Resource tools.
  11. Assist with Workers Compensation and Safety Programs as needed.
  12. Assist at all four ECG facilities as needed (ECM and ENCS Hermitage, PA, ECMP Sharon, PA and ENC Irvine, PA)
  13. Other duties and special project assignments may be required from time to time to support the business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's Degree (4 year) in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree and equivalent experience.
  2. Excellent computer skills with ability to use all Microsoft Office products, HRIS experience preferred.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  4. Detail oriented with ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level and perform with minimal supervision.
  6. Proven experience in decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  7. Regional travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Previous Human Resource experience 5 to 10 years.
  2. Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and compensation management
  3. Affirmative Action and other legal compliance experience and knowledge.
  4. Workers Comp experience and knowledge of PA Workers Compensation laws and processes.
