About the Role

Cloud7Works is seeking an experienced Fractional Business Development Consultant to support our federal growth initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a well-connected business development professional who enjoys networking, building relationships, and representing a growing federal IT services company.

This is a flexible, part-time engagement based on business needs. The primary responsibility is to represent Cloud7Works at industry events, conferences, networking functions, and customer engagement activities throughout the VA/DC/MD region while supporting relationship-building and business development efforts.

ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Relationship Management
  • Represent Cloud7Works professionally at industry conferences, networking events, trade shows, association meetings, and customer engagements
  • Build and maintain relationships with federal agencies, industry partners, prime contractors, and prospective clients
  • Identify new teaming, subcontracting, and partnership opportunities aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Facilitate introductions and help expand the company's professional network within the federal marketplaces.
  • Support outreach initiatives through email, phone calls, LinkedIn, and other business development channels.
  • Conduct follow-up communications after meetings and events to maintain engagement and move opportunities forward.
  • Assist with cold outreach to prospective customers and partners from a business development and capture perspective.
  • Identify and communicate market intelligence, upcoming opportunities, and industry trends.
Marketing & Brand Representation
  • Promote the Cloud7Works brand during external meetings and networking events.
  • Help increase company visibility within the federal contracting community.
  • Coordinate with internal leadership on event participation, messaging, and follow-up activities.
  • Gather and share market feedback, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.
  • Assist with promoting company capabilities, contract vehicles, and service offerings.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Business Development, Capture, Federal Sales, or Partner Development experience.
  • Strong network within the federal government contracting community.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable representing the company at professional events and customer meetings
  • Experience supporting outreach, relationship management, and business development activities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with the federal procurement environment is preferred
Preferred Skills
  • Existing relationships with federal agencies, system integrators, or industry partners.
  • Experience working with small businesses, SBA programs, or federal IT service providers.
  • Knowledge of government contracting processes, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, teaming agreements, and capture activities.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, or other business development tools.
Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and the agreed-upon hourly or engagement rate.
