BROWARD COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS - LIBRARIES DIVISION
Administrative Assistant-Community Engagement (Learning Services), Part Time - 19. [No Benefits]
Salary Range - $22.86 - $36.48 Hourly [dependent upon classification and qualification]
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Administrative Assistant-Community Engagement (Learning Services), Part Time - 19. Additional vacancies may be filled from this recruitment for a different location/section within the library system. This position may be assigned to any location/section within the Libraries Division based on operational needs.

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Learning Services unit within the Libraries' Community Engagement section. This position will perform Microsoft Access (literacy database) data entry; matching volunteers with adult learners and learning programs; tracking volunteer hours; updating assigned staff contacts; tracking student's progress; and informing staff and volunteers about related training opportunities.
This position will use Microsoft Access to collect and compile data with the ability to query the database to create statistical reports as needed. This position will create and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets tracking literacy program attendance, survey data and inventory of the literacy collection. Additionally, this position will assist with a variety of administrative tasks related to Learning Services. This position will handle a multi-line telephone, order resources including supplies, literacy books and provide reviews for new adult learner materials; and provide information and referral for staff, volunteers, and students. This position will perform general clerical functions and as needed will assist with the coordinating, scheduling, and implementing Library Learning Services programs, services and resources. This position will also perform related work as assigned and may be assigned to work at any library location based on operational needs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires two (2) years of technical clerical, administrative or closely related experience.
Preferences
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, nights and weekends
  • Associates Degree or two (2) years of higher education
  • Bachelors Degree or higher
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification
  • Microsoft Office Expert Certification
  • 1+ years' experience using Microsoft Office Suite and MS outlook email and calendar 1+ years' Database Management Experience
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Ability to speak/read/write one or multiple languages relevant to area of assignment
