Position Summary

Jeff Wyler Automotive Family is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager with a strong background in import automotive dealerships to lead our high-performing service department in the Dayton/Springfield market. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing a successful import-brand service operation, developing high-performing teams, driving profitability, and delivering exceptional customer experience.

This leadership position requires an individual who understands the unique expectations of import vehicle owners, manufacturer standards, warranty processes, and dealership service operations while maintaining a customer-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all daily operations of a busy import dealership service department.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Maximize departmental profitability while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction (CSI) scores.
  • Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, gross profit, effective labor rate, and shop capacity.
  • Ensure repair orders are completed accurately and in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Oversee warranty administration and manufacturer compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through exceptional communication and service recovery.
  • Coordinate effectively with the Parts and Sales departments to improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial statements, departmental KPIs, and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of automotive dealership service management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing an import franchise dealership service department (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, or similar preferred).
  • Proven ability to increase service sales, gross profit, and technician productivity.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturer warranty policies and import dealership operations.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Experience managing high-volume service operations.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills.
  • Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, or similar platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Fixed Operations Manager or Service Director is a plus.
  • ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications preferred.
  • Experience implementing lean processes and improving shop efficiency.
