Fiscal Support Specialist (Temporary)

Location: Odessa, TX
Job Type: Temporary (3 to 6 Months)
Pay Rate: $20.00 to $21.00 per Hour
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiscal Support Specialist to join our Finance team in Odessa, Texas. This temporary assignment offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with payroll, accounting, or finance experience who enjoy working in a collaborative office environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while providing exceptional internal customer service.

Position Summary

The Fiscal Support Specialist provides financial and administrative support to the Fiscal Operations team by processing payroll, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process employee data changes and bi-weekly payroll with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Review payroll records for completeness and compliance.
  • Prepare, compile, and analyze financial and operational reports for leadership.
  • Maintain financial databases and records.
  • Review contracts and documentation for compliance with organizational policies.
  • Assist with budget tracking and fiscal record maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Fiscal Operations team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and a good driving record
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment

Preferred

  • Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or fiscal support
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with payroll processing and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with budget control methods and fiscal policies

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform routine office activities throughout the day
  • Ability to travel locally on occasion, if required
  • Flexibility to work adjusted hours when business needs require
