Position Overview

The Fiscal Specialist / Supervisor plays a critical role in managing financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and compliance, while leading and supporting staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Key Responsibilities

As a Fiscal Specialist / Accounting Supervisor, you will:

Financial & Accounting Operations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable (AP/AR)

  • Track budgets, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial reports

  • Oversee procurement processes and inventory tracking

  • Ensure compliance with county, state, and organizational financial policies

Payroll & Administrative Oversight
  • Supervise payroll processing and personnel records management

  • Support employee onboarding and documentation

  • Maintain accurate and compliant financial and HR records

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise and support staff, ensuring training and performance expectations are met

  • Coordinate with county offices (Auditor, Commissioners, Director)

  • Collaborate with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for grant reimbursement and reporting

Reporting & Operations Support
  • Prepare reports, charts, and presentations for leadership

  • Act as backup support for operations, dispatch, or supervisory functions as needed


Minimum Qualifications
  • ✅ At least 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience

  • ✅ Minimum 1 year of administrative or data entry experience (typing, word processing, etc.)

  • ✅ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for reporting and analysis)

  • ✅ Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • ✅ Ability to maintain accuracy in financial records and reporting

  • ✅ Valid driver’s license required


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with government accounting or public sector finance

  • Knowledge of grant reporting or ODOT processes

  • Background in payroll systems, budgeting, and compliance reporting

  • Experience leading teams in accounting or administrative environments
