SUMMARY

Responsible for operating and maintaining Krones can filling machines to ensure the efficient and accurate filling of cans with liquid products. You will work in our beverage manufacturing plant, contributing to the production of high-quality canned beverages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine Setup: Set up the Krones can filling machine for production runs, including configuring settings such as can size, filling volume, and product type. Ensure the machine is clean and sanitized before initiating production.
  • Machine Operation: Monitor the can filling machine during production to ensure proper operation. Load cans into the machine, oversee the filling, sealing, and labeling processes, and adjust as needed to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure filled cans meet required standards. Perform visual inspections, measure fill levels, and check for proper sealing to ensure quality and prevent defects.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine malfunctions or issues. Make minor adjustments, perform basic maintenance tasks, or contact maintenance personnel for more complex repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the can filling machine. Ensure proper sanitation for hygiene standards and conduct preventative maintenance tasks to keep the machine in optimal working condition.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production and maintenance records. Document production quantities, machine settings, quality control checks, and maintenance activities to track efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Food Safety

Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. If this position is vacant for any significant period of time the obligation for completion of all food safety and quality related tasks will become the responsibility of the direct manager or a qualified designee.

Skills/ Knowledge:

Has learned the basic skills and routine tasks necessary. Beginning to learn advanced skills and gaining an understanding of the total process flow. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.ย ย 

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience operating Krones can filling machines or similar packaging machinery.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus regularly.
