Job description

Build and lead the execution of complex civic construction projects.

The Project Executive (PX) is responsible for leading delivery across RJM's municipal and community project portfolio.

This role ensures consistent execution across multiple projects by aligning project leadership, field operations, and client engagement at an executive level.

The PX operates as the senior accountable leader for project outcomes—ensuring teams are properly structured, risks are managed early, and execution remains aligned with schedule, budget, and client expectations.

You will:

  • Lead execution across multiple municipal / civic construction projects simultaneously
  • Provide executive oversight to PMs, superintendents, and project teams
  • Ensure alignment between preconstruction strategy and field execution
  • Drive accountability across schedule, cost, change management, and risk
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for client, subcontractor, and project issues
  • Improve consistency in how projects are delivered across the municipal portfolio
  • Mentor and develop project leadership teams within the sector

What you'll be leading:

  • Municipal / civic project portfolio delivery
  • CM Agency / CM at Risk project execution model
  • Project executive oversight of PMs and superintendents
  • Cross-project staffing, prioritization, and resource allocation
  • Client relationship management at the city / municipal level
  • Execution alignment between preconstruction, estimating, and operations

We're looking for a leader who has:

  • 10–20+ years of construction experience
  • Proven experience operating as a Project Executive, Project Director, or senior market leader
  • Background in CM Agency and/or CM at Risk delivery environments (required)
  • Experience leading municipal, civic, education, or public works projects
  • History managing $50M–$200M+ complex construction projects
  • Strong leadership across multiple concurrent projects and teams
  • Ability to balance execution, client management, and internal leadership priorities

Bonus (not required):

  • Deep exposure to municipal / civic construction delivery specifically
  • Strong preconstruction and estimating literacy
  • Experience managing multi-prime or CM Agency complexity at scale
  • Background in portfolio-level or market-level leadership roles
  • Experience mentoring multiple project teams simultaneously

This is not a single-project leadership role.

It is an executive-level delivery position responsible for how an entire municipal portfolio is executed, including:

  • How projects are staffed and structured
  • How risk is identified and managed across multiple jobs
  • How teams execute consistently across different projects
  • How client expectations are managed across a growing portfolio
  • How RJM scales its municipal delivery model
