Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the safe operation of Forklift & Reach Lift Trucks as well as Stock Pickers used to count materials and products, components and finished goods inventory. This position must be comfortable operating equipment at both ground and elevated levels in the warehouse, shipping, and production areas. At times, it may be required to move, locate, relocate, and stack product in order to complete counts or locate missing product. Cycle Counting serves as both a measure and corrective action of inventory control maintaining high inventory record accuracy (99.5%).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management

  • Certified to operate Forklift & Reach lift trucks.
  • Certified to operate Stock Picker.
  • Use RF gun/scanner to input data into Warehouse Management System
  • Inspect equipment daily and complete pre-inspection form.
  • Operate equipment in an array of surroundings and multi-temperature settings (-10 to 90)
  • Must be able to maneuver in tight spaces on electric or propane equipment.
  • Routinely cycle count inventory by following Warehouse Management System (WMS) directions
  • Accurately count/verify Handling Unit (HU) quantities and batches.
  • "Search and Rescue" lost product
  • Product rotation and retrieval for consolidation to minimize storage needs
  • Works effectively both independently and as a team member.
  • Be aware of surroundings for possible safety hazards and alert co-workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 6-12 months experience using inventory scanning Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferable.
  • Forklift, reach lift, and/or stock picker experience required.
  • Basic counting and math skills required (able to count accurately as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
  • Basic clerical skills required (reading, writing, typing, and spelling).
Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, twisting and reaching for entire shift (10 hours).
  • Lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Work in heights as assigned (30 feet)
  • Work in demanding circumstances (crowded conditions, cold storage (-10 to 40) entire shift (8-10 hours)
  • Able to successfully complete pre-employment screening and training class
  • Able to see/read small print.
