At Essential Services LLC, we are more than a provider agency. We empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by connecting them with qualified Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide personalized, in-home and community-based support. As a Training Specialist, you'll play a key role in preparing employees for success while helping maintain the high standards our clients deserve.
About the Role
This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Training Specialist serves as the primary trainer for Essential Services LLC, delivering engaging and compliant training programs for new and existing employees. This role coordinates New Hire Training, CPR and First Aid certification, annual mandatory training, and additional educational opportunities while helping employees build the skills they need to provide exceptional care.
Working closely with the Training Supervisor and Business Development team, the Training Specialist also develops new training materials, tracks employee compliance, and represents Essential Services LLC throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
Training Coordination
  • Facilitate New Hire Training, CPR and First Aid classes, annual mandatory training, and additional staff education.
  • Coordinate training schedules, locations, and classroom logistics.
  • Maintain accurate training records and employee certifications.
  • Research, develop, and implement new training opportunities.
  • Assist with developing new curriculum and training materials.
Employee Development
  • Support employees throughout the training process.
  • Provide clear communication regarding training requirements and deadlines.
  • Create educational materials and training videos to improve employee learning.
  • Travel throughout Oregon to provide training for remote employees when needed.
Reporting and Compliance
  • Maintain organized digital and physical training records.
  • Prepare weekly training reports and analytics.
  • Monitor employee training compliance and required certifications.
  • Assist with budgeting and planning for training initiatives.
Community Engagement
  • Build relationships with community organizations to expand training opportunities.
  • Represent Essential Services LLC at resource fairs and community events.
  • Assist with employee and client events as needed.
Team Collaboration
  • Participate in the Emergency After-Hours Phone rotation.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team on organizational initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Successfully pass a DHS criminal background check
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid Driver's License and current auto insurance
  • No substantiated abuse or neglect findings and not listed on the CMS exclusion list
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Docs, Windows, email, and phone-based applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records
