Job Summary This is a part-time Limited Duration opportunity that is intended to last for 12 months from the date of hire. Both positions are part-time (20 hours per week) and play an important role in supporting the daily operations of Center 50+, including volunteer coordination and fundraising/special events.

What you will do: The City of Salem is hiring one two part time limited duration Office Assistants to work at Center 50+. The Office Assistant positions is a part-time positions (18 hours per week).

The position will support the daily operations of Center 50+'s volunteers and fundraising/special events . This is the perfect opportunity for those who enjoy working with older adults and creating community. They will represent Center 50+ with enthusiasm and have a strong customer service background.

We are looking for individuals who are confident in coordinating multiple tasks and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Additional preference will be given to those who have experience with data management and bilingual in English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will also have interpersonal skills and experience working with a diverse community, excellent customer service skills, and ability to problem solve and take initiative.

Providing regular coverage of outreach table in Connections Center and participate off-site at WOW Van and Villages Network events as needed, including the promotion of Center 50+ programs and services at information fairs & other events Receiving and responding to calls/emails, redirecting them to other employees when appropriate and/or making outside referrals when necessary Scheduling appointments with volunteers for initial interviews, trainings, and on-going volunteer tasks. Assisting in organizing meetings and workshops, including reserving meeting sites, arranging for refreshments, preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, issuing required notifications and maintaining pertinent records Delivering support in the creation and distribution of various types of printed documents

(ie: forms, reports, correspondence, flyers, lists, schedules, etc.) Assisting with the onboarding process and retention of all volunteers, participating in the interview process, training activities, and recognition events Assisting with maintaining Social Media presence on Facebook and Instagram Other duties as assigned: Maintaining and updating Volunteer database, including process applications, renewals, and resignations and coordinating volunteer requests, generating reports Maintaining volunteer calendar of events Maintaining and updating donor database Offer assistance at fundraising or special events What can we offer you for all your hard work. Must pass the pre-employment background check, and depending on area of assignment, may be required to pass a drug test (including marijuana). Must have an Oregon Driver license and meet the City of Salem's driving standards. A high school diploma or GED, and two (2) years of experience in general clerical/reception work involving public contact in person and providing administrative support, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.

What you will bring along: Experience working with senior populations; Experience in training and supervising volunteers to ensure efficient program operations; Experience managing calendars and coordinating staff schedules; Knowledge of desktop publishing and website maintenance, with strong mastery of computer systems and software; Excellent communication skills.
