The First Catholic Slovak Union is dedicated to connecting, celebrating, and empowering the Slovak community and professionals. We are seeking a highly organized and community-focused Slovak Membership and Event Coordinator to grow our membership base and execute engaging cultural and networking events.


Role Overview:
In this dual role, you will be the primary point of contact for our members and the logistical force behind our events. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for Slovak culture, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with community members, sponsors, and vendors. Proficiency in both the Slovak and English languages is highly preferred.


Membership Coordination:
  • Growth & Retention: Develop and execute strategies to recruit new members and retain existing ones.
  • Database Management: Oversee the membership database, ensuring all records, billing, and contact information remain accurate and up-to-date.
  • Member Support: Act as the main liaison for all member inquiries, fielding questions about benefits, events, and community resources.
  • Onboarding: Manage the welcome process for new members, ensuring they are fully integrated into the community.
  • Communications: Assist in curating and sending out newsletters, emails, and targeted marketing materials.

Event Coordination:
  • Planning & Logistics: Plan, organize, and execute community gatherings, cultural festivals, networking mixers, and virtual meetings from start to finish.
  • Vendor Management: Scout and book venues; negotiate with caterers, entertainers, and audiovisual suppliers.
  • Budgeting: Assist in creating and managing event budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
