Job description

Manager of Event Sales and Partnerships – Independent Contractor
The Manager of Event Sales and Partnerships is responsible for generating revenue for The Ora through the sale of weddings, life cycle celebrations, corporate events, nonprofit galas, social gatherings, and other private events. This position serves as the primary ambassador for The Ora, building relationships throughout the community and creating exceptional experiences for prospective clients from initial inquiry through contract execution.
This position requires a highly visible, relationship-driven professional who actively cultivates referral sources, develops strategic partnerships, conducts venue tours, and converts prospects into booked events. While working collaboratively with the Event Operations and Exclusive Catering teams, this position focuses primarily on sales, business development, and client acquisition rather than event logistics and production.
Position Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
•    Generate event bookings that meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
•    Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through networking, referrals, community engagement, and proactive outreach.
•    Conduct venue tours for prospective clients and showcase The Ora’s features, services, and unique value proposition.
•    Prepare proposals, pricing packages, and sales presentations.
•    Negotiate and execute event contracts in accordance with organizational
policies.
•    Follow up on inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
•    Track and manage all leads, opportunities, and sales activity within the organization’s CRM system.
•    Monitor booking trends and provide recommendations to maximize revenue opportunities.
Relationship Management
•    Develop strong relationships with wedding planners, event planners, and other referral partners.
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients during the sales process.
•    Represent The Ora at networking events, bridal shows, community functions, and industry events.
•    Cultivate relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to expand awareness and generate new business opportunities.
•    Deliver an exceptional client experience that reflects the high standards of The Ora and the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee.
Marketing and Brand Promotion
•    Collaborate with the Marketing Department to promote The Ora and generate qualified leads.
•    Assist in the development of sales materials, promotional campaigns, and venue marketing initiatives.
•    Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor offerings, pricing structures, and industry best practices.
•    Identify opportunities to expand The Ora’s market presence throughout Sarasota-Manatee and the surrounding region.
Collaboration
•    Work closely with the Event Operations Manager and Catering Team to ensure a seamless transition from sales to event execution.
•    Coordinate with catering partners, facilities staff, and other departments as needed during the sales process.
•    Participate in regular sales forecasting, pipeline reviews, and strategic planning meetings.
