Job description

JOB POSITION: MAJOR EVENTS OPERATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: REMOTE

START DATE: SEPTEMBER 2026

POSITIONS OPEN: 1

The Major Events Operations Manager position will directly report to the Director of Major Event Operations. This position will support major event operations and logistics by managing and executing events of varying sizes and types. The role will own and manage assigned client relationships from an operational standpoint, serving as the primary point of contact for all operational matters throughout the event lifecycle. Leading client and internal operational meetings, this person will also exercise independent judgement to resolve issues and make time-sensitive event decisions. He or she will represent Degy professionally at every touchpoint while building and maintaining strong client rapport and trust.

Compensation:

Starting Salary is $57,500.00

Requirements

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist and support company's major events including but not limited to facilitating advance processes, creating schedules, hiring vendors, managing marketing approvals, contract review across a diverse client portfolio;
  • Serve as operational counterpart to assigned agent desks, translating bookings into executable event plans;
  • Coordinate logistics with vendors including production, staging, catering, staffing, fencing, power, and other logistics to ensure paperwork, advancing, and on-site needs are met;
  • Create, publish, and negotiate RFPs or RFQs for vendors or essential operational, event services;
  • Ensure full compliance with insurance, health, legal and safety requirements;
  • Travel as needed to provide onsite, logistical event support for shows or participate in meetings, pre-site visits, or conferences that are within the company ecosystem;
  • Handle heavy volume of inbound and outbound calls, emails, and other forms of communication;
  • Utilize current and at times, develop, new SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for event communication, project management, and other work efforts;
  • Participate actively in weekly staff and departmental meetings, along with any client, sales, or other necessary meetings that are deemed necessary by company;
  • Use the company's preferred technology including CRMs, Project Management Systems, Communication platforms, AI tools, and any future technology adopted;
  • General office and administrative related duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years professional experience with live event management, history of providing professional onsite logistical support, and running tour advances, production logistics, and artist & vendor hospitality;
  • Confident, outgoing, organized, and process-oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Multi-tasker with superior time management skills and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting and problem solving in high intensity situations;
  • Ability to independently manage client relationships and act as a primary point of contact for events, including leading meetings and representing the organization as a whole;
  • Technologically comfortable with internet, social media, zoom, teams, Office/Microsoft365;
  • Able to pass an NCIC FBI Background check;
  • Must possess a valid and current Real ID and/or U.S. Passport;
  • Must have a current driver's license registered in a state in the USA, and the ability to travel independently;
  • Due to the expectations of working live events, must be able to perform to the necessary physical standards of supporting our clients on site; and be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor locations (which may include different climates);

Preferred Advanced Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the entertainment industry including past experience working with music, speakers, comedians, and the like;
  • Knowledge and previous experience working with higher educational institutions (colleges, universities);
  • Past experience with building budgets and working with P&L (Profit & Loss) statements;
  • Technical proficiency with systems such as SharePoint, ClickUp, Salesforce;
